A Egnyte Case Study
EcoMedia is an environmental media company that develops marketing programs to connect businesses with consumers while funding environmental projects. With nearly 20 employees spread across three cities and frequent travel for nationwide initiatives, the company relied on a single local file server in its California office, which created a bottleneck when the lone point-person was unavailable and made remote access, security and controlled sharing difficult.
EcoMedia selected Egnyte in 2008 to replace the physical server, migrating 0.25 TB of data and using features like document logs, a mapped-drive option and a user-friendly web interface. The switch eliminated a dedicated T1 and server lease (about $16,000 annual savings), gave every team member secure remote access, improved version control and searchability, and significantly boosted productivity and efficiency.
