A Egencia Case Study
Scotiabank, Canada’s third-largest bank with more than 81,000 employees and roughly 6,500 business travellers, wanted better visibility and cost control over its corporate travel program. Key goals were to increase online booking adoption to cut agent-assisted fees, improve tracking and reuse of unused airline tickets, and secure dedicated account management support to drive compliance and savings.
By partnering with Egencia and rolling out targeted in-person and online training alongside an intuitive booking tool, Scotiabank increased online adoption from 15% to 68%, a 53-point lift that cut agent fees by $153,000 annually. Improved online reporting and unused-ticket alerts recovered an additional $25,000 in Q4 2012, and ongoing account management and enhanced airline content delivered stronger program oversight—reducing annual travel spend by more than $175,000.
