Case Study: Expedia Group achieves streamlined global corporate travel and $7M in savings with Egencia

A Egencia Case Study

Preview of the Expedia Group Case Study

Expedia Group builds streamlined global corporate travel with Egencia

Expedia Group, the parent company of brands like Expedia, Hotels.com and Orbitz, needed a consistent, global approach to corporate travel after finding its program fragmented across regions and business units. With multiple points of sale and manual processes that reduced visibility into bookings and costs, the team sought a solution that could consolidate workflows, improve cost forecasting and ensure traveler safety—especially amid COVID-19 disruptions.

Working with Egencia, Expedia Group integrated travel with its HR system to automate profiles, cut points of sale from 65 to 25, and adopt negotiated hotel rates and consulting support. Egencia’s Analytics Studio and policy alerts helped track unused tickets and out-of-policy bookings, contributing to $7M in travel management savings in 2019, better visibility into travel patterns, and strengthened traveler safety and standardized processes for the return to business travel.
