Skyjack, a global leader in scissor-lift manufacturing, needed to bring order to a fragmented travel program used by frequent road-warriors and executives. The company sought to cut costs, consolidate bookings to leverage volume, encourage earlier purchases and online adoption, retain flexibility for last-minute travel, and keep high-travel employees satisfied.
In March 2012 Skyjack engaged Egencia, implementing a single online portal with live-agent support, centralized reporting and negotiated hotel rates plus training and change management. The program delivered a 28% drop in domestic average ticket price in year one, an average 28-day advance purchase, 92% online booking, fares 24% below peers, a 10% hotel program saving and a 19% lower nightly rate versus Egencia benchmarks, with 100% traveler recommendation and consultant satisfaction; the approach is now being rolled out to additional business units.
