Case Study: City of Turku advances digital accessibility with Eficode

Turku – a city of sustainable development – invests in accessibility

The City of Turku, a Finnish city focused on sustainable development, needed to ensure that all its digital services met accessibility directive requirements while also building broad in-house accessibility knowledge and a workable citywide process. To support this long-term effort, Turku partnered with Eficode for accessibility guidance, training, and evaluation.

Eficode helped the City of Turku audit digital services, update accessibility statements, support remediation, and deliver training and workshops across the organization, using tools such as Siteimprove, screen readers, and contrast checkers. The work resulted in a city-level accessibility network of around 30 people, 45 training sessions, improved processes for new and existing services, and stronger, shared accessibility practices across the city.
