How Finland’s national betting agency changed their infrastructure to become more efficient

Veikkaus, Finland’s national betting agency, needed a faster, more reliable way to run SAS-based analytics and understand customer behavior in real time. Eficode helped the government-owned gaming company address limitations in its legacy Oracle environment, which could not scale to current needs or handle granular, real-time data.

Eficode implemented a modern data architecture using Hadoop as a landing area, Pentaho ETL for data integration, and HP Vertica at the core of the data warehouse. The result was a powerful, scalable environment that enabled real-time analytics, better reporting, and improved customer insights, while also replacing Veikkaus’ legacy EDW architecture with Finland’s first full conversion to a modern setup.
