How automatic testing provided Metso with a competitive edge

Metso, the Finnish industrial machinery company behind the Metso DNA control system, needed a way to replace extremely time-consuming manual testing and improve monitoring across its industrial systems. Eficode helped address this challenge, starting with automatic testing for Metso’s I/O cards and later extending automation into the Metso DNA UI.

Eficode implemented a Robot Framework-based testing setup for I/O cards and a proof-of-concept automated UI testing system, giving Metso real-time reports and traceability across tens of thousands of tests. The result was much faster testing—dozens of cards in under two minutes—along with improved quality, reduced quality assurance effort, lower implementation costs, and a stronger competitive edge.
