A EfficientIP Case Study
FHVI, the IT department of the Federation of Vaudois Hospitals in Switzerland, manages roughly 7,000 workstations across a highly distributed network serving a 12,000‑person hospital staff. They faced fragmented IP management (Microsoft IPAM, Excel files and undocumented knowledge), security concerns around Microsoft DNS, technical DHCP limitations and overreliance on individual staff — prompting a need for a consolidated “single source of truth” and a way to manage multi‑vendor DNS/DHCP while minimizing migration impact.
FHVI chose EfficientIP’s SOLIDserver, implemented with partner tebicom, to deploy a unified DDI solution and centralize DHCP/DNS management with lifecycle workflows, high availability and user authentication. The result was a single, intuitive interface for all IP data that reduced manual effort and migration risk, improved traceability and security, optimized costs by leveraging existing Microsoft investments, enabled self‑service IP pool requests, and set the organization on track for a full migration and internal SOLIDserver training.
