Improving Governance, Security and Cost with Unified DDI Management

La Poste, a global postal and services group with 238,000 employees and operations in 63 countries, tasked its i-TEAM IT department with unifying and centralizing DNS‑DHCP‑IPAM (DDI) across all subsidiaries. The goal was to give each entity simple, autonomous control of addressing plans while strengthening security and reducing the cost and governance fragmentation caused by multiple, inconsistent solutions (the previous Infoblox deployment was judged too rigid and error-prone).

i-TEAM deployed EfficientIP’s SOLIDserver to provide a single, flexible IPAM and DDI platform with delegated admin spaces, strict partitioning, automated naming and rollout rules, and tightened access controls. The rollout now manages nearly 100% of La Poste’s external addressing (about 500,000 IPs), with 28 SOLIDservers supporting 156,175 IPv4 networks, over 10,000 DNS zones and ~1,000 DHCP requests/sec. The result is unified governance, lower TCO, faster deployments, improved security and availability, and simplified, SLA-backed operation across the group.
