A EfficientIP Case Study
A major European financial institution whose operations depend on real-time Internet access faced growing risk of service disruption and inefficient IP management. Its Microsoft DHCP servers offered only limited failover (80/20 split), IP allocations were tracked in error-prone spreadsheets, and DNS, DHCP and IPAM were managed separately—leading to misconfigurations, poor visibility and high operating costs.
The customer deployed EfficientIP: two SOLIDserver appliances in an active‑active DHCP failover architecture, SmartArchitecture templates for automated deployment, centralized web-based DDI management, and a NetChange‑IPLocator appliance for real‑time IP discovery. This delivered uninterrupted, centralized and consistent DNS/DHCP/IPAM services with improved real-time visibility, scalability and reduced opex, eliminating double allocations and minimizing outage risk.
