De Montfort University (DMU) needed to replace an aging DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM) system whose hardware was reaching end-of-life and whose functionality and usability were increasingly limiting. The networking team sought a more cost-effective, user-friendly solution that could better manage IP infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.

DMU implemented EfficientIP’s SOLIDserver DDI across seven appliances, plus NetChange-IPLocator and multi-vendor management, with AD integration for role-based access; the cutover and data migration were completed in five working days. The new platform delivered greater functionality and resilience (DNS/DHCP failover and virtual IPs), much faster bulk changes (tasks that once took a day now take minutes), lower overall cost, and smoother operations—enabling plans for workflow automation and wider delegated access.
