Centralization of DNS – DHCP services management

STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader, centralized its DNS and DHCP management to gain a single, global view and fine-grained supervision of its distributed network (about 50 sites and 35 servers). The challenge was to replace a decentralized, heterogeneous setup with a solution that supports all DNS vendors, LDAP authentication, diverse platforms and web-based administration to regain control and reduce operational complexity.

They implemented EfficientIP’s DDI solution to centralize DNS/DHCP/IPAM with role-based local and advanced administration, granular monitoring and real-time service alerts. The deployment delivered reduced costs, improved network visibility and control, consolidated network services, optimized resources and local support for ongoing supervision.
