Angel Trains, a UK rail leasing company, needed a better way to give its employees a voice and capture meaningful feedback across a complex, distributed operation. Working with Effectory for employee engagement surveys, the company wanted to move beyond basic internal questionnaires and gather richer insights that could help fine-tune how teams worked together, especially as COVID-19 changed working life.

Using Effectory’s employee listening platform and subscription-based survey solution, Angel Trains ran yearly engagement surveys plus pulse checks during lockdowns, with support from a customer success manager and automated reporting. Effectory’s analysis helped the company identify department-level issues, launch focus groups, and take action on findings, including creating a wellness working group and improving connection across teams. The results were used to show employees “you said, we did,” while engagement scores also became a year-on-year indicator of future performance for shareholders.
