TechniSat revitalizes TV HMI in 14 months with Edvantis

TechniSat, a leading German consumer electronics manufacturer, faced the challenge of modernizing the outdated Human-Machine Interface (HMI) for its television sets to ensure another decade of relevance. Their in-house team lacked the specific frontend development expertise needed to bring their designers' vision to life and integrate a modern UI for satellite tuners. They engaged the software engineering services of vendor Edvantis to tackle this project.

Edvantis assigned a team of ten specialists skilled in C++ and the Qt framework to develop a highly optimized solution using Qt Modeling Language (QML). Despite a major strategic shift that required restarting work to target low-end devices, the team adapted and delivered a high-quality frontend. Although the final product did not go into production due to a change in the client's priorities, Edvantis was commended for its professional project management, technical expertise, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback on the quality of the work delivered.
