Case Study: McMinn County School System improves student learning outcomes with Education Networks of America

A Education Networks of America Case Study

Preview of the McMinn County School System Case Study

How Tennessee’s McMinn County School System is thinking outside the box to improve and enhance the learning opportunities it provides its students

McMinn County School System, a rural Tennessee district committed to improving student outcomes despite limited resources, needed to modernize its aging technology infrastructure to better support digital learning. Working with Education Networks of America (ENA), the district evaluated its network, communications, and classroom technology needs as it sought to create better learning opportunities for students and staff.

Education Networks of America helped McMinn County School System upgrade its WAN and internet access, add fiber at all schools, and strengthen Wi-Fi/LAN and communications capabilities. The district increased WAN capacity from 100 Mbps to 1 GB, then to 5 GB aggregate, and raised internet access across sites up to 2 GB, while also expanding device access from 1:6 to about 1:2 and planning 1:1 deployments for 40 classrooms. ENA’s support enabled McMinn to roll out “even playing field classrooms” with touchscreen whiteboards and audio enhancements for 375 classrooms, improving accessibility and supporting a more collaborative, student-centered learning environment.
