Preview of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District Case Study

How Ohio’s Cleveland Metropolitan School District Leveraged Managed VoIP and WAN Services to Become Future-Ready

Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), the second largest school district in Ohio, needed to modernize its aging and complex communications and network environment to support growing digital learning demands. Working with Education Networks of America (ENA), CMSD set out to simplify IT operations, improve reliability and throughput, and support a future-ready academic plan through managed WAN and cloud-based VoIP services.

ENA implemented ENA SmartVoice and a managed WAN as part of CMSD’s Infrastructure, Convergence, and Enablement (ICE) initiative, deploying about 6,000 phone handsets in just under seven months. The project finished ahead of schedule and under budget, while delivering classroom phones, better mobility, streamlined procurement, improved 911 safety, and cost savings that freed funds for other initiatives.
