Case Study: Nipissing–Parry Sound Catholic District School Board achieves streamlined grading, reporting and staff collaboration with Edsby

NPSCDSB is finding more and more uses for its Edsby system

Nipissing–Parry Sound Catholic District School Board (NPSCDSB) in Ontario adopted Edsby in the 2016 school year to replace a cumbersome legacy gradebook and modernize K–12 administrative processes. The district initially sought Edsby primarily as an online gradebook that could be rolled out more quickly and manageably than their previous system.

Edsby delivered a cloud-based gradebook plus collaboration and reporting tools—staff-room groups with shared calendars, a successful spring 2017 reporting test for kindergarten, and plans to use Edsby for grades 1–8 report cards at selected schools. The result: the gradebook was adopted in a matter of months rather than years, teachers reported improved day-to-day coordination, and the district is expanding Edsby’s use across administrative and instructional workflows.
