New Digitalized Design Process Creates Competitive Advantage for Valmet

Valmet, a global technology, automation, and service provider for the paper and energy industries, required a more efficient method to handle complex, repetitive strength analysis tasks that were part of their project deliveries. These advanced analyses, which needed to comply with international standards, were time-consuming and required expert involvement. Partnering with simulation software provider EDRMedeso, they sought to streamline and automate this critical design process.

EDRMedeso developed a new digital tool that automated these strength calculations and reporting. This solution reduced the time spent on a single analysis from up to two weeks to approximately one day, saving tens of hours per case and enabling chief designers to perform the work without specialists. The tool also optimized structures, standardized the design process to eliminate human errors, and provided a significant competitive advantage. Due to the project's success and excellent cooperation, Valmet has already agreed to a new project with EDRMedeso to develop similar tools for other applications.
