A Edmentum Case Study
Vincennes Community School Corporation is a small K–12 district in southwest Indiana serving about 2,600 students (roughly 61% qualifying for free/reduced lunch) that faced high poverty in several elementary schools and needed a comprehensive way to reach diverse learners across reading, formative assessment, remediation, acceleration, and credit recovery. The district sought a single blended-learning partner to tailor instruction for every situation and student.
VCSC expanded its partnership with Edmentum—deploying Study Island for formative assessment and remediation, PLATO for credit recovery, Reading Eggs and EducationCity in elementary reading blocks, and Accucess for tracking standards and IEP goals—creating a district-wide blended learning program. Outcomes were substantial: elementary schools improved from failing/C grades to three A’s and a B, the middle school rose to a C, algebra and English end-of-course scores increased markedly, the high school graduation rate climbed from 82% to 93%, and about 20% of 2014 graduates used Edmentum products to graduate on time.
