Streamlining Benchmark Testing for Allied Health Certifications and Licensures

Virginia College, a 24-campus institution serving career-focused students in the South, faced a gap in Allied Health exam preparation: instructors spent hours creating practice tests from disparate materials or required students to buy inadequate $25 test-banks, all while lacking a way to track progress—tests were hand-graded and feedback was limited. Made required from enrollment, Northstar’s weekly assessments (with a target score of 75 by week eight), remote access/printable tests, and analytics reduced grading time, increased student autonomy, enabled targeted remediation, and improved readiness for certification.
