Plato Courseware Helps Students Stay on Pace for Graduation

Dublin Scioto High School in Dublin, OH, a Title I school of about 1,236 students, needed to simultaneously challenge high achievers and support a significant at‑risk population so struggling students could keep up with coursework and graduate on time. The school sought an effective credit‑recovery and intervention solution to help students falling behind stay on pace with their peers.

In 2012 Dublin Scioto implemented Plato Courseware from Edmentum, running courses in two computer labs across seven class periods with teacher support and one‑on‑one pairing as needed; the platform is also used for RTI, special education, and ESL. As a result the school has maintained a four‑year graduation rate well above the Ohio average (with an increase after the first year) and sees 97–99% of seniors testing proficient or higher in reading, math, science, and social studies.
