Maintaining High Standards for Every Learner

Edmentum partnered with West Genesee Central School District (Camillus, NY), a suburban district of about 3,200 pre-K–8 students, to address a clear challenge: accelerate students screening below grade level and provide enrichment for above‑average learners while adapting to new Common Core standards.

The district implemented Edmentum’s Study Island and Reading Eggs across all four elementary and two middle schools, integrated into classrooms, computer labs, and at home with support from a district software trainer. Study Island’s timely Common Core updates and Reading Eggs’ differentiated literacy instruction helped create a cohesive blended‑learning program that produced strong results—over half of students scored proficient in grades 3–8 math and language arts in the baseline Common Core year, well above state averages near 30%.
