Copper River School District - Customer Case Study

The Copper River School District, a rural district in Glennallen, AK serving about 100 students in grades 9–12, faced the challenge of providing more than the minimum required courses: limited AP, electives and CTE options left diverse student interests and career pathways unmet. District leaders needed a way to offer advanced, career-focused and special-interest courses and allow self-paced or accelerated learning despite their small size and remote location.

CRSD partnered with EdOptions Academy to deliver a blended online learning model with access to more than 250 courses and staffed learning labs where a single mentor can support up to 20 students taking different classes simultaneously. Online enrollment rose from zero to 25–50 students per semester (about half the high-school population), expanding AP and CTE access, reducing the chance of students disengaging, and improving postsecondary and workforce readiness in the community.
