Orica, the world’s largest provider of commercial explosives and blasting systems, needed an easy-to-use ideation platform that could scale across its global business and support innovation in a fast-changing environment. Its Research and Innovation team had struggled with spreadsheets and other collaboration tools, and turned to edison365 for a more consistent, integrated way to capture and develop ideas across the company, using edison365ideas.

edison365 implemented edison365ideas, a cloud-hosted ideas and portfolio management platform built on Microsoft Office 365, enabling Orica to crowdsource innovation through SharePoint and Yammer. The results included over 100 ideas submitted in the first month, more than 100 ideas submitted since launch with nine taken forward, and reported improvements in collaboration, innovative thinking, and employee satisfaction.
