Exxaro, one of the largest diversified resources companies in South Africa, needed a better way to capture and assess employee ideas. Good ideas were being lost because there was no central collection point, so the company looked for an ideation platform to support its “functional excellence” innovation programme. It selected edison365 ideas for 6,000 users.

edison365 implemented a cloud-hosted, Microsoft-based idea and portfolio management platform that integrated with Exxaro’s existing Office 365 and Azure environment. Within the first 60 days, Exxaro recorded 14 new challenges, 88 new ideas, 35 ideas under review, and 3 successful solutions taken forward, while also increasing employee engagement and reinforcing its values of collaboration and innovation.
