A Edina Case Study
Dublin City Council faced the challenge of replacing the standby power generation system at its critical Ringsend Wastewater Treatment Plant without any interruption to operations. A power outage of even a few minutes risked catastrophic flooding within Dublin city. The council appointed vendor Edina to undertake this full turnkey project to ensure continuous security of power.
Edina implemented a complex solution, first installing a temporary 3,600kVA power package from its hire fleet to ensure uninterrupted standby coverage. The vendor then designed and installed a new permanent 6,600kVA diesel generator system at 3,300 volts, including new switchgear and control systems. This new, more powerful system was also smaller, allowing Edina to creatively redesign the space to house the priceless Lord Mayor's Coach, providing an additional benefit to the customer.
