Edina CHP reduces energy cost by 30 per cent at Ireland’s largest frozen foods manufacturer

Green Isle Foods, Ireland's largest frozen food manufacturer, faced a challenge of high energy costs and sought greater security of power supply for its operations. To address this, the company engaged Edina to conduct a feasibility study for implementing a more efficient energy solution.

Edina implemented a turnkey 1MWe combined heat and power (CHP) plant that supplies the site's base electrical load and recovers thermal energy for steam and hot water processes. This solution from Edina reduced the company's energy costs by 30%, cut carbon emissions by 9,730 tonnes per annum, and significantly improved power security.
