Case Study: MediaCityUK achieves low-carbon, secure power supply with Edina CHP

Edina CHP powers Europe’s first creative and media development hub

The customer, MediaCityUK, a major UK creative and media hub, required a sustainable and efficient energy solution to reduce operating costs, improve power security, and meet its significant carbon reduction commitments. To address this, they engaged the vendor Edina to implement a combined heat and power (CHP) plant.

Edina supplied and installed a 2MWe MWM TCG 2020 V20 natural gas CHP engine. This highly efficient, tri-generation system provides electricity, heating, and cooling, achieving an overall system efficiency of over 87%. The solution delivers substantial results, including annual energy savings of £850,000 and a reduction of approximately 20,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, supporting MediaCityUK's world-leading sustainability credentials.
