Case Study: Dynex Semiconductors achieves lower-carbon, more efficient manufacturing with Edina’s CHP solution

A Edina Case Study

Preview of the Dynex Semiconductors Case Study

Dynex CHP powers semiconductor manufacturing site to deliver a low carbon business

Dynex Semiconductors, a world-leading manufacturer of high-power semiconductors, faced challenges with volatile energy costs, inefficient gas boilers, and a need to reduce carbon emissions at its Lincoln facility. The company partnered with vendor Edina to implement a sustainable Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant to address these issues.

Edina designed, installed, and now maintains a 1.56MW CHP plant powered by an MWM gas engine. The solution generates 65% of the site's electricity and 90% of its hot water demand, drastically reducing grid imports and energy costs. The highly efficient system achieves over 98% availability and is a key part of Dynex's sustainability measures, helping them meet UK Climate Change Agreement targets.
