Maplemarsh, a Shell-branded station, was facing lower fuel volumes during COVID-19, which was hurting profitability. To help address this, the team used EdgePetrol to review the station’s past performance and compare it with market benchmarks in order to find ways to improve fuel margins.

Using EdgePetrol, Maplemarsh tested incremental increases to the regular-to-premium unleaded differential and explored the strength of the V-Power brand. The result was a 20% increase in profit on V-Power versus the previous year, while total volume fell 13% and standard grade volumes fell 19%, suggesting the premium decline was driven by broader market conditions rather than the pricing changes.
