A Edgegap Case Study
The customer, Noodlecake Studios, faced the challenge of delivering a fair, low-latency multiplayer experience for its game Super Flappy Golf without the high cost and maintenance of constantly running idle servers. They needed a responsive and efficient infrastructure solution that would minimize latency for players and eliminate the financial waste of paying for unused standby capacity.
Edgegap implemented its on-demand Edge Cloud hosting service, which automatically deploys a dedicated server for each match at the optimal global location for all players. This provided a fair, low-latency experience and a cost model where Noodlecake only pays for active usage. The results were a more robust multiplayer mode with no post-migration player complaints and significant cost savings, allowing the team to focus entirely on game development.
