Lilavati Hospital Mumbai Network, a major Mumbai hospital with 314 beds and over 1,500 daily out-patients, faced a failing 100 Mbps LAN built on unmanaged switches that could not support growing demands for HIS, digital reports, video and inter-facility collaboration. To achieve a resilient, scalable and centrally managed network within budget, the hospital engaged Edgecore Networks and specified managed switching and PoE-capable hardware (ECS5610-52S, ECS4510-28T, ECS4510-28P, ECS4510-52P).

Edgecore Networks implemented a redundant core with two L3 ECS5610-52S 10G switches (VRRP), a 10 Gbps non-blocking backbone, VLAN segmentation, security controls, PoE access switches and advanced monitoring; a firewall provides up to 1 Gbps Internet throughput. The upgrade raised campus links from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps, cut service calls/outages from weekly to near zero, enabled real‑time clinical data sharing, voice/video/data convergence and easier management, boosting staff productivity and patient-care efficiency.
