Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government Bridges the Digital Divide in Education with Edgecore Networks
The Education Bureau of Kaohsiung City Government created the "Kaohsiung English Van" to bring interactive English lessons (VR and live broadcast) to rural schools but needed reliable, high‑speed wireless connectivity in remote areas. After evaluating options, the bureau selected Edgecore Networks to ensure stable mobile teaching, citing products such as the OAP100 outdoor AP, ECW5410‑L in‑vehicle AP, ecCLOUD controller and ECS2100‑10P switches.
Edgecore Networks deployed two OAP100 units for 4G uplink and point‑to‑point bridging up to 3 km, an ECW5410‑L for in‑vehicle access (supporting up to 256 concurrent users), and ecCLOUD for centralized management. The solution delivered IP68 weatherproof, low‑latency wireless with up to 1.2 Gbps links and robust long‑distance bridging, enabling smooth VR/live lessons and greatly improved network stability and manageability for the Kaohsiung English Van.
