Case Study: United Nations Institute for Training and Research achieves global reach for mobile microlearning with EdApp

A EdApp Case Study

Preview of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research Case Study

How the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) incorporates EdApp microlearning to educate their learners across the globe

The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), the UN’s dedicated training arm that serves over 130,000 beneficiaries globally across nearly 700 events, needed a fast, scalable way to keep delivering training during COVID-19 and to reach vulnerable, remote communities. UNITAR turned to EdApp’s mobile microlearning platform to provide accessible, smartphone-first lessons that could be deployed quickly and used in low-bandwidth or offline environments.

EdApp implemented bite-sized microlessons with built-in translation, offline mode, and Discussions & Assignments features, enabling UNITAR teams to create, personalise, and deploy high-quality content rapidly. As a result, UNITAR expanded its reach to hundreds of thousands of learners across regions such as Afghanistan, Iraq, the Middle East and Sub‑Saharan Africa, maintaining continuous education during the pandemic and in areas with limited connectivity.
