The Shoe That Grows - Customer Case Study

The Shoe That Grows, the flagship product of Because International founded by Kenton Lee, set out to deliver expandable shoes to children in extreme poverty but faced steep operational challenges: selling single and bulk orders, managing inventory and flexible pricing, and fulfilling shipments while running the nonprofit from a spare room. To scale sales and simplify order management they needed an online storefront and tools for discounts, samples and bulk edits—requirements they met using Ecwid.

Ecwid’s embeddable store (starting on the Free plan and later upgrading to Venture and Business) provided product variants, discount code handling, sample tracking and bulk order editing, making online sales and fulfillment far more organized. With Ecwid, The Shoe That Grows made its first online sale in October 2014, shipped 2,500+ pairs by January, and to date has processed over 4,000 orders and shipped more than 35,000 pairs worldwide—growth the team credits to Ecwid’s e-commerce capabilities.
