How One Volunteer-Driven Organization Uses E-Commerce for its Member Site

Swami’s Cycling Club, a volunteer-driven cycling organization in San Diego, needed a way to sell member gear and fundraise for competitive riders. Long-time volunteer Bryon Black had been managing sales manually at twice-yearly events and reconciling a giant spreadsheet; he implemented a Members Only e-store using Ecwid’s SaaS e-commerce platform to add an online store to the team’s membership site.

Using Ecwid, the club gave multiple volunteers administrative access, synchronized in-person sales with PayPal Here, and moved inventory and payments off spreadsheets into a single system. Ecwid cut reconciliation from several days to a few hours, improved inventory accuracy and cash-flow visibility, reduced reliance on one person, and increased operational efficiency and volunteer retention.
