A Ecteon Case Study
Bank of The West (BoW), a full-service commercial bank serving 19 Western states, faced a largely paper-based, manual contract-management process that relied on Excel and physical file stores—about 2,200 active and 1,900 terminated/expired contracts and roughly 47,500 pages of documents across two offices—while needing stronger controls to meet Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and interagency safeguarding guidelines. To address this, BoW selected Ecteon’s Contraxx solution to modernize contracting workflows and centralize contract administration.
Ecteon implemented Contraxx to provide purchase-requisition routing, collaborative negotiation workflows, a central contract repository with metadata and role-based access, automated milestone alerts, boilerplate generation, and a Periodic Vendor Management (PVM) and risk-ranking module (integrated with First Research). As a result, Ecteon enabled BoW to centrally manage the bank’s ~4,100 contracts and consolidate document access, automate key-date notifications and vendor reviews, and improve consistency and regulatory oversight—demonstrating Ecteon’s implementation flexibility and Contraxx’s scalable functionality.
