Apthorp Pharmacy, a single-location retailer on Manhattan’s Upper Westside, engaged ECRS to streamline store operations and achieve IIAS compliance using the ECRS CATAPULT® system. Their challenge was to build front-to-back automation—bi-directional EDI with suppliers, seamless outsourcing of private store charge account management, and two-way POS integration with the pharmacy system—to speed checkout and meet the expectations of a demanding clientele.

ECRS implemented CATAPULT with ECRS Gateway adapters (live with Kinray and extending to Solgar), one-click PO transmission, electronic receiving/invoicing, automatic price updates, a Newtek/ECRS two-way interface for outsourced charge accounts, and CATAPULT Rx integration with HBS for prescriptions. The result: immediate 99% scan rates, weekly hours saved through automatic reordering, more evenly distributed shipments, staff freed to serve customers, seamless FSA/HSA card acceptance, and full IIAS compliance—demonstrable inventory control and reduced manual billing thanks to ECRS’s solution.
