Nature’s Green Grocer Market & Café in Peterborough, NH, owned by Joel Patterson, grew into the Monadnock region’s largest natural foods store but started with manual cash registers and a time-consuming, error-prone inventory process. To gain control, reduce guesswork, and support future growth, the store partnered with ECRS to deploy its retail automation suite — notably CATAPULT® POS, LogicSync®-powered ECRS Gateway™ EDI, WebCAT™ handhelds and auto-reorder functionality.
ECRS implemented end-to-end automation: CATAPULT for POS and back-office reporting, ECRS Gateway for real-time supplier EDI and cost updates, and WebCAT for fast cycle counts. The result: order-build and placement for the primary supplier dropped from over two hours to about 20 minutes (10 minutes to receive), near-elimination of pricing/ordering errors, lower labor and inventory costs, faster inventory turns, and actionable reports used for staffing and in‑store marketing. ECRS’s solution freed owner time, improved margins, and even helped generate revenue through POS advertising that offset system costs.
