Kimble’s Food by Design, a LaGrange, Georgia–based provider of vending, corporate cafeteria and catering services, wanted to modernize employee dining by replacing traditional vending with fresh micro-markets and reducing long lines and cash-handling headaches. To achieve a faster, cashless and consumer-friendly experience, Kimble’s partnered with Breakroom Provisions Company and ECR Software Corporation (ECRS) to roll out self-checkout kiosks and an integrated POS for a hybrid market/cafeteria environment.
ECRS supplied its CATAPULT-enabled solution—PA-DSS certified, non–web-dependent POS with self-checkout, inventory, loyalty and back-office functionality—integrated with the BPC installation, deployed in about three to four weeks with strong support. The result: faster transactions, reduced shrink and highly positive user feedback, and an 18% uplift in sales/profit for the site, delivering a rapid return on investment for Kimble’s Food by Design.
