The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, which administers the state's workers' compensation system, needed to increase efficiency and deliver better service to injured workers—particularly within its Structured Settlements business unit. To address legacy data and complex claims documents, the agency implemented Ecrion’s document-rendering product to automate dynamic MS Word form generation and populate forms from mainframe data.

Ecrion built a web application that merges five Web Service messages into a unified XML source, producing dynamic forms with repeated sections and expandable table rows that result in 8–30+ page claims documents as needed. The Ecrion solution delivered a measurable 25% time savings for attorney staff, allowing more focus on knowledge work and improving service to injured workers, with strong marketing and technical support from Ecrion throughout the project.
