Waitrose, one of the UK’s leading grocery retailers and part of the John Lewis Partnership, wanted a more personalised way to engage loyal in-store shoppers and stand out from competitors. To meet that goal, it turned to Ecrebo and its POS-based marketing platform, including the “Message at Till” coupon solution, to deliver targeted communications at the point of sale.
Ecrebo implemented real-time, printed coupons and personalised offers that were integrated with Waitrose’s myWaitrose loyalty scheme, allowing the retailer to trigger relevant messages based on shopping history and basket content. The initial trial across 10 stores quickly proved successful, leading to a full rollout across the estate; Waitrose reported that the solution was easy to deploy, highly agile, and delivered higher ROI than direct mail or email, while enabling campaigns to be launched in minutes and tracked in real time.
