Preview of the Barrington Community Unit School District (cusd) 220 Case Study

Barrington CUSD 220 serves 8,600 students with ECRA Group's SEL Personalized Learner Profile

Barrington Community Unit School District 220, a high-performing district serving approximately 8,600 students, faced the challenge of not having a measurement system to understand the social and emotional learning (SEL) needs of individual students. This resulted in an incomplete portrait of each student, making it difficult to personalize learning and address needs holistically. The district partnered with vendor ECRA Group to address this gap.

ECRA Group helped the district develop and embed an SEL self-assessment aligned to CASEL competencies within its existing Personalized Learner Profile (PLP) system on the ECRISS platform. This solution provided teachers with a broader view of each student by analyzing SEL needs alongside academic indicators. As a result, District 220 was able to quickly implement SEL strategies and better address individual student needs, fostering a positive climate and culture.
