How INNIO is championing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) with support from EcoVadis

INNIO, a global energy solutions provider, sought to advance its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts both internally and across its supply chain. As a company dedicated to sustainable and equitable practices, it needed a robust system to measure, track, and improve its own DEI performance while also engaging its suppliers on the same critical issues. To tackle this, INNIO partnered with the sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis.

EcoVadis provided the framework and platform for INNIO to measure supplier performance against five specific DEI indicators aligned with UN principles. The solution included using EcoVadis scorecards to assess suppliers, identify areas for support, and collaboratively develop improvement plans through workshops and one-to-one discussions. As a result, INNIO saw a 340% increase in A-rated suppliers and a 104% increase in B-rated suppliers over 12 months, while also advancing its own sustainable procurement maturity rating with EcoVadis from ‘Responsive’ to ‘Proactive’.
