A Ecovadis Case Study
Fuji Electric Engineering & Construction, a Japanese facilities engineering company, faced the challenge of being significantly behind its peers in sustainability practices. With societal demands less apparent than in consumer-facing industries, the company needed an objective view of its position and a way to integrate sustainability into its core business. To address this, they partnered with the sustainability ratings provider EcoVadis for an external assessment.
Using the EcoVadis assessment, Fuji Electric E&C systematically identified areas for improvement, developing corrective action plans across its departments. The solution provided by EcoVadis offered an objective benchmark and clear guidance. As a result, the company improved its score from an initial poor rating to achieving a Bronze Medal in its second year, driven by key actions like publishing its own human rights policy and CO2 emissions data for the first time. EcoVadis enabled the company to build trust with investors and partners by effectively communicating its sustainability progress.
