How Groupe Sterne and subsidiary Sterne City Collaborate to Drive Decarbonization

Groupe Sterne, a multinational transport and logistics group, sought to decarbonize its operations and meet its ambitious Net Zero 2050 goal. To achieve this across its many subsidiaries, the group needed a unified approach to measure, manage, and improve its sustainability performance, particularly concerning its extensive Scope 3 emissions. The vendor EcoVadis provided its sustainability ratings platform and corporate subscription service to help the group and its subsidiary, Sterne City, tackle this challenge.

The EcoVadis solution enabled structured GHG management, SBTi target setting, and comprehensive emissions reporting across the group. This collaboration led Sterne City to achieve an EcoVadis Platinum Medal and improve its carbon scorecard to the top level. The results were significant, including accessing new tenders, with the group receiving over 197 scorecard share requests from customers. EcoVadis also proved invaluable for boosting employee engagement, improving recruitment, and guiding the entire group’s continuous improvement journey towards meaningful climate action.
