Protecting lone workers even in remote areas with poor signal

Country and Outback Health (COBH), an Australian regional primary health care organization, needed a way to protect staff working alone across remote outback areas with poor mobile coverage. To improve safety for employees in its Partners in Recovery program, COBH chose EcoOnline’s lone worker app and cloud-based monitoring hub powered by StaySafe.

EcoOnline’s solution let staff start and end their own sessions, add notes, and use GPS tracking so managers could monitor travel and home visits in real time. The app automatically switched from 3G/4G to 2G, and could also work with satellite connectivity, helping COBH locate lone workers accurately if they triggered an alert, lost signal, or failed to check out when expected.
