Case Study: CSA Group saves time and improves global GHG reporting with EcoOnline

CSA Group, a not-for-profit standards organization with 36 sites in 15 countries, needed a more efficient way to manage global greenhouse gas reporting after years of handling assessments in spreadsheets. The organization had to stay compliant with the Corporate GHG Protocol and ISO-14064-1, while also managing complex emissions data across testing facilities with unique emission sources. EcoOnline’s Ecometrica Platform was used to replace the manual process.

EcoOnline supported CSA Group by running FY2010 and FY2011 assessments concurrently, uploading historical FY2009 data for consistency, and using its emissions-factor database to calculate global Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. The platform improved data collection, quality assurance, and audit readiness, enabling KPMG verification and reasonable assurance. As a result, CSA Group completed two years’ worth of global GHG accounts in less than a year and now includes the reporting in its annual report.
