Macomb County Government needed a modern, easy-to-use traffic signal management system that would integrate with existing field devices and fit a reasonable implementation schedule. In 2011 the county selected Econolite’s Centracs solution because of Econolite’s familiarity with their servers and devices, compliance with specifications, and a practical integration plan to manage a large, distributed signal network.

Econolite implemented a turnkey ATMS using Centracs — providing software supporting D4 local controller software (1.5.9-7 and newer), scalable communication servers, Google Earth-based infrastructure mapping, and full integration services. Econolite installed and integrated the system, generated intersection graphics for 500 intersections, delivered system training, and enabled simultaneous management of more than 700 local signals, resulting in a complete, operational traffic management solution for the county.
