An Upgrade of Aging Atms Infrastructure to Centracs ATMS

The City of Albuquerque needed to replace an aging advanced traffic management system (ATMS) to improve citywide signal control and monitoring. Econolite installed its Centracs Advanced Traffic Management System and integrated the City of Albuquerque’s existing 400 traffic signal controllers as part of the upgrade.

Econolite’s implementation included removing and replacing 15 signal cabinets, installing 70 Econolite ASC/3 controllers, performing firmware upgrades on existing ASC/2 controllers, developing 400 intersection graphical displays, and integrating 100 CCTV cameras into Centracs. The result was a modernized, centrally managed ATMS—400 intersections controlled within Centracs, 70 new controllers deployed, 100 cameras integrated, and improved operational visibility and management for the City of Albuquerque.
